Cheerleaders Dressing Like Natives is Not OK

Recently, the “Indianettes” drill team from Port Neches-Groves, Texas appeared at Disney’s Magic Kingdom, where they were dismayed to learn the park now has a policy preventing them from wearing their traditional headgear, a mockery of Native ceremonial war bonnets. That didn’t stop the team from sporting feathers in their hair and other offensive gear, or supporters from chanting “Scalp ‘em!” Let’s flood Port Neches-Groves with emails telling them to change their name and stop with the offensive and harmful cultural stereotypes!
