First Annual Wopila Gathering with Signing

A Virtual Celebration to Honor, Inspire, and Activate

The Lakota People’s Law Project hosted our first annual Wopila Gathering — a special, live-streamed event to celebrate Indigenous culture together and propel the movement for justice — on Giving Tuesday, Nov. 30!

We intentionally created this space to welcome in allies and accomplices to listen to Indigenous voices as Indigenous People from communities across Turtle Island gather to discuss Indigenous sovereignty, land and water rights, education, economic development, cultural maintenance and promotion, and resistance movements. Our Woplia Gathering expands the capacity of allies to exist in solidarity and in support of Native Peoples. This offering is a commitment by Lakota People’s Law Project to honor and exemplify relationship building across communities as we all walk toward our shared future in a good way.
